Module 10: Foundations; Pile Types, Concrete, QC, and Installation Records
Foundations are the part of a BESS project that nobody sees after they are built — which makes getting them right the first time non-negotiable. A battery container that weighs over 90,000 pounds fully loaded, sitting on a foundation that was not built to specification, is a problem that cannot be corrected without removing the container. This module covers the foundation types used on utility-scale BESS, the installation methods and QC requirements for each, and the documentation that proves the foundations were built correctly.
